Enhancing Awareness Surrounding Canada’s Historical Events

The Vimy Foundation is a charity organization that focuses on creating awareness surrounding Canada’s role within the First World War and specifically the Battle of Vimy Ridge. As an evolving organization with various education programs, campaigns, and legacy projects, The Vimy Foundation was not satisfied with their old website. The main goal of the website redesign was to funnel users to specific areas, accommodate for new content, and ensure the long-term usability of the CMS.

/01 The Strategy & Design

I helped to redefine the future of Vimy through strategizing and designing a website that could effectively showcase the different mission initiatives. During my time at Lift Interactive, I worked with other UX designers, visual designers, and developers to successfully launch this project. With an emphasis to create an overall user friendly site, my team focused on crafting each unique page to tell a story that would engage users.

/02 The Challenges Encountered

In response to new content, we designed flexible page templates that would accommodate varying content and not hinder the user experience. The redesign was a huge feat as it merged the English and French sites together under one central domain and featured an e-commerce shop. These challenges made the experience more exciting as I helped solve different user, client, and business goals.

/03 The Impact

After a month of launching the website redesign, we've seen amazing results -from the average monthly visitor rate going up, website performance increase, more people converting, and happy clients as they can manage their site smoothly without any hitches.
